The Restaurant

A relaxing place on the Esplanade in Penarth! We specialise in British Classics, made well. It is important to us to use only local suppliers and our fishmonger, our meat supplier and our greengrocer deliver daily.

Being right on the seafront, we are famous for our fish and seafood dishes but steaks and Welsh staples like lamb Cawl are hugely popular dishes too and our famous Sunday Lunches book up early.

Vegetarian and Gluten-free dishes are always available.

We only managed to survive the lock-down by offering take-aways and deliveries and we have decided to continue offering all our dishes as take-aways.

A place with a history worth sharing!

One of the the most distinguished former owners was leading show-business figure Robert Redford. He lived at the then called Sea Cot when he ran the “Theatre Royal” in Wood Street Cardiff and commissioned theatre architects Runtz & Ford to design Cardiff’s “New Theatre” for which his wife Grace laid the foundation stone in 1906. The New Theatre was completed within just 10 months and Mr Redford ran it until his retirement in 1930.
